The right of a community to plebiscite is recognised and enshrined in both the Act Teanga and the Local Government Acts. The Dingle plebiscite went through a rigorous democratic eighteen month process. No Gaeltacht organization made a formal objection to the Dingle Plebiscite when they were invited by the Council to do so.
